The US financial markets will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, and early on Tuesday, December 24, in observance of the Christmas holiday. Both the Nasdaq Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) will be closed on December 25th, per the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) and the official Nasdaq holiday list.
On December 24, the financial markets are scheduled to open for half a day and conclude early at 1 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST). In preparation for Christmas, the US bond market will likewise be closed on Wednesday and close early on December 24 at 2:00 p.m. (EST). Wall Street, which closed early before Christmas, will resume its regular operations until January’s New Year holiday.
Due to the New Year 2025, the next Wall Street holiday is set for Wednesday, January 1. Additionally, before the New Year break, markets are expected to close earlier.

On Friday, the Nasdaq Composite closed at 19,218.17 points, up 0.83 per cent from its previous closing of 19,060.48 points. Among the day’s biggest gainers were Thunder Power Holdings Inc., ParaZero Technologies Ltd., Bolt Projects Holdings Inc., and Passage Bio Inc.
