Reliance share price in focus today on record date for bonus issue of 1:1

Monday, October 28, is the record date for the 1:1 bonus issue of shares, therefore the price of Reliance Industries’ stock is still under scrutiny.

A 1:1 bonus issue for Reliance Industries shares became ex-date today, which also serves as the record date for determining which shareholders are eligible for the bonus. Before the market day ended on Friday, October 25, retail investors were expected to purchase shares of Reliance Industries to qualify for the company’s 1:1 bonus shares.

As a result of the 1:1 bonus issue, Reliance Industries stockholders will get one bonus equity share worth ₹10 for each share they own. To put it another way, shareholders will see their shareholding quadruple without making any further investments.

The members’ approval of the 1:1 bonus share issuance was announced in the company’s September 5 and October 16 publications. According to Reliance Industries, Monday, October 28 has been set as the record date for identifying the company’s equity stockholders who are qualified to receive bonus equity shares.

With the largest market capitalisation on Dalal Street, Reliance Industries’ stock closed Friday at ₹2,655.45 per share. Reliance Industries’ market capitalisation was ₹17.97 crore.

The share price of Reliance Industries has dropped by about 10% in the past month as foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have been selling and geopolitical concerns have continued to put pressure on the Indian equities markets.

Reliance Industries also released its financial results for the quarter that concluded in September 2024 on October 14. The oil-to-telecom behemoth reported muted growth in the second quarter of FY25 due to a weaker oil-to-chemicals (O2C) sector.

With a total profit of ₹16,563 crore, the most valuable company in India reported a 4.7% decline from the same period last year. The quarter’s overall operational revenue was unchanged at ₹2,35,481 crore.
